s is situated on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers, directly opposite Mana Pools. The Chongwe River is the boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park, said to be one of the continent's most picturesque wilderness areas.

Accommodation
The camp itself looks onto the confluence of the two rivers and the mountains of the escarpment to the north.  Chongwe River Camp is a 'bush camp' situated in a wilderness area; elephant are more numerous than people in our Albida grove. There are no fences and the animals have complete right of way. If you wish to enter into the spirit of non-intrusive enjoyment of wildlife, in a relaxed, natural setting, we offer the experience of a lifetime.

The chalets are large, well appointed Mulati tents under thatch, with a luxury open air bathroom on suite. Situated under a canopy of Albida thorns and surrounded by cool lawns, they command fabulous views over the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers. Each tent sleeps two persons, but arrangements can be made for more if need be (kids!).

Dining
Our chef will prepare a wide variety of dishes, which are served at the outdoor dining table. Dining al fresco in the gloaming of an African night, under a canopy of stars with the sounds of the bush as a backdrop, is truly an unforgettable experience!

For those guests who like to socialise, we have a bar situated right on the confluence, where you can enjoy a wide range of beers and spirits.

Activities
One does not have to even leave the camp to see and hear a wide variety of wildlife. Relaxing in the sitting-out area overlooking the river, one can see a constant procession of game coming down to drink, as well as over 250 species of birds!

Fishing The Zambezi is home to one of the world's premiere game fish, the Tiger. There are plenty of bream and chessa to eat or use as bait, as well as many varieties of catfish. You will certainly have a fight on your hands if you hook a Vundu (Bagrus Catfish), which can grow up to almost 100Kg!

Wildlife The area immediately around the camp is teeming with wildlife. On a game walk at dawn, you are sure to see many different species. If you want to see a bigger variety of game, we also offer both day and night drives in an open Land Cruiser in the National Park.

River Safaris A different view of the game can be had from the river. Even if you do not wish to fish, we have a cruise boat and canoes that can be used for river trips and unparalleled close viewing of game from the river.
