The Luangwa River lies beyond the plain, one of the best game viewing areas in the magical South Luangwa National Park. This indeed is one of the best National parks in Africa and the premier park in Zambia. Renovated in 2019, the lodge offers a relaxed atmosphere and great attention to details.

Room description

Kafunta River Lodge has luxury private chalets, main lounge and also the dining decks which all overlook the game-rich floodplain. The lodge has eight safari chalets which stand on raised wooden platforms with thatched roofs as well as private viewing decks. These are pleasantly decorated and match the local style. Kafunta River Lodge also has two luxury spacious suites with extra-large en-suite bathrooms. These suites have a cosy mezzanine with additional beds and an open balcony. Comfortable sitting areas are also available in the rooms with coffee and tea making facilities. Furthermore, a small fridge is available stocked with refreshing drinks.

The lodge has chefs who are Luangwa locals and are passionate about food preparation and learning new culinary skills. The lodge grows their own Herbs and part of their vegetables such as lettuce and tomatoes. They look at Mfuwe growers for staple supplies and the rest of the kitchen provisions are ordered from Chipata or Lusaka.
