New Air Link Connects Zambia and Namibia for Seamless Regional Travel

- For decades, limited regional air connectivity has posed a challenge for African tourism, with travelers often required to transit through major southern hubs to move between neighboring countries. This dynamic is shifting as Proflight Zambia launches a new scheduled service between Lusaka and Windhoek starting March 3, 2026.

Operating three times weekly via a brief stop in Livingstone, the route strategically connects Zambia’s commercial capital, Victoria Falls, and Namibia’s capital city. The efficient routing allows travelers to enjoy activities at Victoria Falls and arrive in Namibia the same day, significantly enhancing itinerary flexibility.

For the travel trade, the service makes it far easier to combine Zambia’s wildlife areas—such as South Luangwa National Park and Lower Zambezi National Park—with Namibia’s iconic landscapes, including Sossusvlei and Etosha National Park. By bypassing traditional transit points like Johannesburg, the new link reduces travel time, minimizes fatigue, and strengthens both tourism and business ties between the two countries.
