Qatar Airways Boosts Southern African Connectivity With Major Frequency Increases
Qatar Airways has announced a significant expansion of its Southern African network, significantly enhancing travel connections to and from Zambia along with other key destinations in the region. Beginning mid-June 2026, the Doha-based carrier will increase its Lusaka service from five weekly flights to daily departures. This change aims to provide passengers with more reliable scheduling and greater access to international markets.
In addition to Lusaka, Qatar Airways will boost frequencies to other cities such as Cape Town, Durban, Maputo, and Harare, making it one of the leading operators expanding its services in Africa ahead of the peak travel season. For Zambian travellers, these improvements facilitate seamless connections to major global markets in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Travel businesses across Southern Africa can leverage these enhanced schedules to create integrated itineraries that cater to both leisure and business clients. The expanded operations will significantly improve connectivity and offer a more convenient travel experience for passengers in the region.
The new flight schedules will take effect on 16 June 2026, representing a commitment by Qatar Airways to invest in the potential of the Southern African market.
