Proflight Zambia Announces Temporary Flight Schedule Consolidation

Proflight Zambia Announces Temporary Flight Schedule Consolidation

-

Proflight Zambia has announced a temporary reduction in its regional flight schedule due to rising jet fuel prices and ongoing aircraft maintenance challenges. The changes, effective until at least 11 June 2026, primarily affect routes connecting Zambia to neighbouring Southern African destinations.

Key adjustments include:

  • Reduction of Lusaka–Johannesburg flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays from two to one daily service.
  • Cancellation of selected Lusaka–Maun flights due to low demand.

These changes may impact connecting passengers travelling through OR Tambo International Airport to international destinations. The airline has introduced higher fuel surcharges, leading to increased ticket prices, while excess baggage fees have also risen.

Despite the reductions, Proflight Zambia continues to operate its core network, including services to Cape Town, Windhoek, Maun, Livingstone, and various domestic destinations such as Mfuwe (South Luangwa National Park). The airline’s fleet consists of Bombardier CRJ-200 jets and Jetstream 41 turboprops.

Travel professionals are advised to reconfirm all bookings, allow extra buffer time for connections, and keep clients informed of potential schedule changes. The situation will be monitored closely, with a possible return to normal operations once fuel prices and supply chain issues stabilise.
